Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026

PayWatcher is a payment verification service, not a payment processor. We do not hold, transfer, or have custody of any funds. We monitor public blockchain data and notify you when a payment matching your criteria has been confirmed. You remain solely responsible for your funds, wallets, and private keys.

1. Service Description

PayWatcher provides a verification layer for stablecoin payments on the Base network. Our API monitors public blockchain data and confirms when a USDC payment matching your specified criteria (amount, sender, recipient) has been included in a confirmed block.

We are not a payment processor, money transmitter, or custodian. We do not initiate, facilitate, or settle transactions. We do not have access to or control over any wallets or private keys.

2. Eligibility

PayWatcher is a B2B service. To use our service, you must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. By creating an account, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Account & API Keys

Access to PayWatcher is managed through an onboarding process. Upon approval, you receive an API key that authenticates your requests.

You are responsible for keeping your API key confidential. Do not share it, commit it to public repositories, or expose it in client-side code. If you suspect your key has been compromised, contact us immediately. We reserve the right to deactivate API keys in case of misuse.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use PayWatcher for:

  • Any illegal activities
  • Money laundering or terrorism financing
  • Sanctions evasion
  • Fraud or deceptive practices
  • Any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts without prior notice if we have reasonable suspicion of prohibited use.

5. Service Level

PayWatcher is provided on an "as-is" basis. We do not guarantee any specific uptime or availability SLA at this time. We operate on a best-effort basis and will announce planned maintenance windows in advance when possible.

6. Fees & Billing

Pricing is as displayed on our Pricing page. PayWatcher offers tiered plans — from a free tier to Enterprise. There are no hidden costs. Any changes to pricing will be communicated with at least 30 days advance notice.

7. Limitation of Liability

PayWatcher verifies payments based on publicly available blockchain data. We do not guarantee the correctness, timeliness, or completeness of blockchain data.

We are not liable for:

  • Missed or delayed payment verifications
  • Blockchain reorganizations (reorgs)
  • Smart contract bugs or vulnerabilities
  • Loss of funds for any reason
  • Service interruptions or downtime

Our total liability is limited to the fees you have paid to PayWatcher in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

8. Intellectual Property

The PayWatcher API, documentation, dashboard, and all related materials are the intellectual property of masemIT e.U. You retain all rights to your own data processed through our service.

9. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. Upon termination:

  • Your API key will be deactivated
  • Your data will be deleted according to our retention policy (see Privacy Policy)
  • Payment verification data is retained for 7 years as required by Austrian law

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by Austrian law. For B2B disputes, the exclusive jurisdiction is the competent court in Waidhofen an der Thaya, Austria. Consumer rights and statutory jurisdiction remain unaffected.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email with at least 30 days advance notice. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
